Splash Nepal Adventure started rafting on Kaligandaki River in Beni of Myagdi. The operators informed that the rafting route has been set from Galeshwor of Beni to meeting point of Kaligandaki River via Myagdi. They said that in case of tourists’ desire the route could be extended till Mirmi via Naya Pul.
Hom Pun, guide of Splash Nepal Adventure, informed that rafting on Kaligandaki River had been started targeting the tourists visiting Myagdi and Mustang in an association with Gandaki Hotel. Stating that there was a scope of rafting on Kaligandaki River, he said that one could raft from Galeshwor to Beni, Malangwa, Naya Pul and Mirmi. Pun who had been a rafting guide for 14 years said that in Kaligandaki River rafting would be conducted till mid-May.
A fare of Rs. 1,200 has been decided to raft a distance of 3 kilometres from Galeshwor to Beni. In case the tourists want to raft to Mirmi from Beni, they would need to raft for three days, Pun said.
Pun said that they had operated rafting there targeting 7th Myagdi Festival going to be held on January 12. Since the flow of the river is appropriate for rafting, they would continue the rafting service even after the festival, he added. Gandaki Hotel operator Gum Pun said that rafting would help to promote water tourism in the district.
