The government has allocated Rs 2.74 billion worth of budget for the next fiscal year, 2021/22 for the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The budget figure has increased Rs 360 million than in the current FY, 2020/21. Budget worth Rs 2.36 billion were allocated for the Ministry in the current FY. Retired athletes will get concessional loans to run a business, according to budget.
Likewise, required budget has been managed to construct cricket grounds at Baijanathpur in Morang district, Mulpani in Kathmandu, Bhairahawa in Rupandehi, Lamahi in Dang, Nepalgunj in Banke and Mahendranagar in Kanchanpur, said Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel reading out the budget speech.
Likewise, budget has been managed to open a high altitude sports training centre in Solukhumbu, Sindhupalchok, Manang, Mustang and Jumla. Also, participation in international sports competitions would be increased.
