The five ruling parties on Monday formed a joint coordination committee to assist the government and make the alliance more effective.
A meeting of the top leaders of the ruling five parties held at Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba`s official residence in Baluwatar decided to form the committee to forward joint election strategies for the upcoming election to the National Assembly and by-elections.
After the meeting, the government spokesman and Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said the committee comprised two members each from the five ruling parties.
Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel is coordinator of the committee while Krishna Prasad Sitaula is a member from the NC.
Other members include CPN-Maoist Centre chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and its leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha, CPN (Unified Socialist) chair Madhav Kumar Nepal and one leader from the party, Janata Samajwadi chair Upendra Yadav and another leader from JSP-N, Rastriya Janamorcha chair Chitra Bahadur KC and vice-chair Durga Paudel.
Minister Karki is also a member in the committee. The committee coordinator will be changed in every two months on a rotational basis.
Prime Minister Deuba will also attend the committee meeting.
