The US Embassy in Nepal has rejected national cricketer Sandip Lamichhane’s visa application to the United States. In a tweet, he said he was ‘surprised’ for being denied the visa, and called upon Hello Sarkar and Ministry of Foreign Affairs attention to the matter.
Today I visited @USEmbassyNepal to get the visa of USA for the upcoming @CPL 2019 tournament. Being a National Cricket Player representing my country in the various leagues since 2016 around the world, i got big surprise to see my visa got rejected. @PM_Nepal @USAmbNepal

Sandeep Lamichhane, a national sensation with an emerging international career, has played in various international tournaments – he represents Delhi Capitals in Indian Premier League, Melbourne Stars in Australia’s Big Bash League. He is due to play for Barbados Tridents team in the upcoming season of Caribbean Premier League.
He had applied for the visa because there is a chance ‘the second round of CPL could be held in Florida, US’. In another tweet, he said ‘he had proper documentation’.
