The former captain of the national cricket team, Sandeep Lamichhane, announced that he will arrive in Nepal and surrender to the authorities to fight a legal battle via his social media.
Sandeep has been taking all the time he can; probably to process all the scenarios. Taking to his Facebook page today, Lamichhane said he would surrender to fight a legal battle against false allegations.
“With great hope and strength, I hereby, announce that I am reaching my home country, Nepal on 6 October 2022 and will submit myself to the authority of Nepal to fight a legal battle against this false allegation,” he wrote.
Sandeep Lamichhane, who is accused of raping a 17-year-old minor girl, will be taken to Gaushala Police Circle for investigation upon his arrival in Kathmandu.
A complaint was filed against Sandeep on September 6 and he took to social media to claim that he was innocent. After that, he has posted multiple times on social media claiming his innocence but disappearing for two weeks, an Interpol diffusion notice and not returning to Nepal for almost a month have made the situation against his favor.
Netizens have already conducted their social media trial and concluded him guilty due to the shady behavior after case and now for taking more time to return ‘like he is coming for a vacation’. Many have also accused him of stalling to buy time and ‘resolve case outside the court’.
