Nepali leg-spinner Sandip Lamichhane has departed from Kathmandu on Tuesday to participate in the Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia. He went there via a Qatar Airways flight, and will be undertaking a mandatory 14 day quarantine upon his arrival in Australia.
The 20-21 Edition will be Lamichhane’s third time playing in the Big Bash League.This season, he has signed on with Hobart Hurricanes. Lamichhane will be missing the initial six games as he will have to stay in quarantine.
The young Nepalese cricketer made his Big Bash League debut for the Melbourne Stars in 2018-19, and played for a second time with the Melbourne Stars in 2019-20. He has made quite a considerable impression with 26 wickets to his name in the 21 matches for BBl in the two editions he represented Melbourne Stars.
Hobart Hurricanes is playing against Adelaide Strikers in its third game of the BBL this afternoon. It has won two matches before this. Lamichhane’s team Hobart Hurricanes is in the second position of the League so far with seven points.
