Sankhuwasabha Massacre: Additional 4 Accused Made Public


The police have made four additional persons public who were arrested in connection to the mass murder of six members of the same family in Madi Municipality of the district.

Members of prime suspect Lok Bahadur Karki’s family have been arrested by the Police for their alleged involvement in the mass murder. The police made public Lok Bahadur’s father Rana Bahadur Karki, younger brother Naresh Karki, Uncle Khadga Bahadur Karki, and cousin Hasta Karki (Khadga Bahadur’s son) on Monday.

According to District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha, all arrestees were found to be involved in the murder.

DSP Lal Dhwoj Subedi, chief at the District Police Office, said that case of homicide had been filed against all the accused.

The police had arrested Lok Bahadur Karki on September 11, Sunday. After three days, the police took Lok Bahadur’s younger brother Naresh into custody and four more people were arrested on the basis of Naresh’s statement.

On September 6, Sunday, Tej Bahadur Karki, 58, his mother Parbata Karki, 84, wife Kamala Karki, 54, daughter-in-law Ranjana Karki, 28, grandson Dipen Karki, 11, and granddaughter Goma Karki, 5, were found dead in Madi.

The police stated an investigation over Naresh after Ranjana’s mobile phone was found in his possession.
