Shah Feted In USA, UAE For Her Role During COVID-19


Madhavi Shah, a resident of Nepalgunj, has been felicitated for her efforts in saving several lives during the global COVID-19 pandemic across Nepal. She was honoured in the United States of America (USA) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Nepal Event Organisation Association decided to honour her with the National Hero Award, 2078 in the UAE.

“Shah dedicated her time in saving the lives of many despite high risks. We are happy to select her for the honour,” said RK Subedi, chairman of the association, on a phone call.

According to Subedi, around 6,000 applications were received for the award from which Shah was selected. He informed that a special programme will be conducted in Nepal to hand over the award to Shah.

Similarly, the Nepalese Association in South-East America also honoured Shah and 11 others for their activities amidst the pandemic.

Shah, who is in the teaching profession, had helped manage plasma for the treatment of 235 critical COVID-19 patients by coordinating with Bheri Hospital during the first and second waves of the pandemic.

Through Shah, patients from Kathmandu, Dhangadhi, Surkhet, Dang and Kapilvastu benefitted.

Talking to The Rising Nepal, Shah informed that the award has motivated her to continue helping others as much as she can.
