There has been a significant improvement in Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s health, according to TU Teaching Hospital.

Issuing a press release, executive director at the Manamohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center under the Teaching Hospital Dr Uttam Krishna Shrestha informed about the PM’s improving health.

Barring a few special persons, other visitors have been restricted from meeting with the prime minister.

According to the PM’s Private Secretariat, Oli is now able to walk inside the ICU and has no problem in speaking.

The prime minister made sure he did not miss the opening ceremony of the 13th South Asian Games, and watched the inauguration’s live telecast on an ipad, one of his private secretariat members said.

Prime Minsiter Oli underwent an emergency appendectomy at the Hospital on November 26. He is still admitted at the ICU for recovery. It is unclear when the prime minster will be discharged from the hospital.

Prime Minister Oli’s health has been frail for the past few weeks. At the age of 67, Oli is functioning with just one working kidney that was transplanted 12 years ago, in 2007, at India’s Apollo Hospital.
