One person has died and four others injured after a truck knocked down three motorcycles in Sinamangal on Sunday night. The tipper (Ba 2 Kha 4317), heading towards Gaushala from Tinkune knocked three motorcycles ((Ba 85 Pa 569, Ba 38 Pa 2303 and Na 43 Pa 8735) in front of Sinamangal Cargo Office.
The rider of Ba 33 Pa 2303, a young Pasang Bhote, died on the spot, while four others were rushed to Sinamangal based Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) Hospital. Critically injured, Chhangbung Bhote, who was on the motorbike (Ba 85 Pa 569) and another motorcyclist Pramod Dhital (Na 43 Pa 8735), are receiving treatment at Kathmandu Medical College Sinamangal, while two others have been transferred to National Trauma Centre – they have been identified as Sisam Wagle and Praveen Dhital.
The driver of the tipper is being held in custody, and an investigation is ongoing. According to eye-witnesses, the three motorcyclists were making way for some pedestrians crossing the road and the tipper driver was unable to stop the vehicle in time to prevent the catastrophe.
