Sky clears up as monsoon season withdraws from Nepal

The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has informed the monsoon season for 2022 has ended all across Nepal.

Monsoon this year lasted a fortnight longer than predicted due to low pressure over the Bay of Bengal battering several regions of the nation with continuous rain.

Issuing a notice today MFD, said the monsoon that entered Nepal on June 5 from western Nepal started to withdraw from October 15.

Complete withdrawal of the monsoon will take a few more days which is likely to cause light to moderate rain in the eastern parts of Nepal. However, the weather across the country will be generally fair in the coming days as the influence of monsoon air has become weaker in Nepal.

Monsoon has left a lot of people in despair with landslides, floods, and flash floods rocking all parts of the country. It shadowed the Dashain festival as forecasts revealed rainfall throughout the occasion.

As the monsoon withdraws, cold winter is predicted to seep in slowly as meteorologists predict the temperature will now start to drop.

Farmers across the nation have now begun to harvest their rice crop which is done after the end of monsoon season.
