Speaker Sapkota Calls Meeting With Parties Represented In Federal Parliament


Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has called a joint meeting with the political parties represented in the federal parliament on Monday. According to Shridhar Neupane, Media Expert of the Speaker Sapkota, the meeting will be held at 2:30 pm at Lotse Hall in New Baneshwor.

Press expert Neupane said that the meeting has been called with the objective of discussing and reaching consensus after the main opposition party CPN (UML) obstructed and chanted slogans continuously in today’s meeting. Speaker Sapkota called the meeting while UML was accusing him of not formally calling for dialogue to continue the parliament meeting.

Meanwhile, Speaker Sapkota had a brief interaction with UML lawmakers today. After postponing today’s meeting of the parliament, he had discussions with UML Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai, Shanta Chaudhary and Khagraj Adhikari. Press expert Neupane informed that an all-party meeting was called after no agreement was reached in the meeting. UML has been obstructing regular parliamentary meetings raising various demands.

It has been said that the meeting will discuss the resumption of the parliamentary meeting and important agendas.
