Proposal on name and permanent capital of State 5 presented

Meanwhile, the State government has forwarded the process for finalising the name of the state and its permanent capital. Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Kul Prasad KC presented a proposal related to this in the meeting of the State Assembly today.

The process for naming the State and its permanent capital has been brought after about two and half years of the formation of the State government.

Minister KC proposed the name of Deukhuri Valley as the permanent capital of State 5 and Lumbini as the name of the State.

The Deukhuri valley covers Rapti and Gadhawa rural municipalities of Dang and the plain area on the bank of the Rapti River lying in Sheetaganga Municipality of Arghakhanchi district. Likewise, the proposed name of the State, Lumbini, is the birth place of the apostle of peace Gautam Buddha.

Presenting the proposal to this effect, Minister KC hoped that a consensus would be forged on the name and the permanent capital of State 5, arguing these as the most appropriate choice.
