Student Unions Demand To Revoke Hike On Petroleum Products’ Price


The student unions on Friday morning picketed the office of the Nepal Oil Corporation in protest against a hike in the price of petroleum products.

The unions picketed the central office of the Corporation at Teku today morning, stating that the price hike of LPG gas and petroleum products had affected the public and students economically.

The ANNFSU close to CPN (Maoist Centre), ANNFSU close to CPN (Unified Socialist) also demanded the resignation of the staffers at the Corporation involved in the hike in the price of petroleum products.

The protesting student unions said that they will pile pressure on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN(Unified Socialist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal among other leaders from ruling parties to revoke the recent increase in the petroleum price which, they said, economically burdened the general public.
