Hindu women across the globe are observing the festival of Teej today – a festival dedicated to goddess Parvati’s reverence towards Lord Shivaji. Women observe the festival by fasting, offering their prayers to Lord Shivaji and Goddess Parvati, and dancing – lots of dancing.
