Tensions ran high near the Trichandra campus when student union groups started pelting stones at the police on Sunday. The stone pelting began at 10 am today.
The student union pelted stones saying the police intervened during the burning of effigies of President Bidya Devi Bhandari. They were already holding protests against the delay in ratification of the Citizenship Bill by the President.
After the students threw stones at the police, the police picked up the same stones and retaliated, increasing the chaos.
