A coronavirus infected person admitted at Crimson Hospital, Rupandehi succumbed to COVID-19 at 7:10am today.
According to Ministry of Social Development (MoSD) of Province 5, the person who died was 41-year-old male of Gulmi District.
The man’s swab sample was sent to the PCR-testing lab at Bhairahawa and he tested positive for coronavirus infection.
Chief at the Hospital Development and Medical Services Division of MoSD Province 5, Dr Uma Sankar Prasad Chaudhary said, “The man who passed away was under treatment and was admitted to ICU. This is the second death in Province 5.”
Nepal has reported a total of three deaths due to COVID-19. Earlier, a 29-year-old woman from Sindhupalchowk and a 25-year-old youth from Narainapur-5, Banke had also died of COVID-19 on May 16 and 17 respectively.
