Rautahat District Police Office, on Monday, admitted that journalist Mohammad Moji Bullah had been framed and nabbed by planting drug on his motorbike.
The police disclosed that a member of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Rautahat was involved in framing the journalist, leading to his arrest.
Rautahat District Police Office SP Siddi Bikram Shah, organising a press meet on Monday, said that FNJ Rautahat chapter’s joint-secretary Sanjay Sahani had used his connection with police personnel Dhiraj Yadav and Jitesh Kumar Yadav to plant the drug on journalist Moji Bullah’s motorbike.
Sahani had then called ASI Uday Prasad Yadav and police constable Manoj Sah and ‘tipped’ that the journalist was carrying drugs.
Following an investigation, constables Dhiraj and Jitesh Kumar were arrested. They were suspended after the investigation found out the truth of their involvement in the incident.
According to SP Siddi Bikram Shah, journalist Mohammad Moji Ballah and his aide are released.
