The first meeting of the 10th session of the House of Representatives (HoR) began today.
Despite obstruction against the meeting by the main opposition CPN (UML), Speaker Agni Sapkota proceeded with the agenda of the meeting.
Some bills have been tabled in the meeting today.
Dilendra Prasad Badu, Minister for Justice, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, tabled the bill on behalf of the Home Minister.
Following the tabling of the bills, the meeting has been adjourned till 21 December.
According to the RSS, during the meeting, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota read out the letter sent by President Bidya Devi Bhandari regarding the announcement of the session and welcomed the HoR members.
Soon after the commencement of the meeting, the main opposition party, CPN (UML) surrounded the well, demanding to maintain parliamentary discipline.
The CPN (UML) that has been expressing its dissatisfaction with Speaker Sapkota for not removing its lawmakers who had faced party’s action.
The UML said it would continue protest in the 10th session of the federal parliament that began today.
