CPN (UML) has taken a lead in the proportional election across the country with more than 2.7 million votes.
According to the data provided by the Election Commission (EC), CPN (UML) has grabbed the first spot with 2,703,957 votes while the incumbent ruling party Nepali Congress is in the second position with 2,564,287 votes.
CPN (Maoist Centre) is situated in the third position with 1,146,733 votes, while the newly formed Rashtriya Swatantra Party has earned itself a position as a national party by scoring 1,099,228 votes.
Similarly, Rashtriya Prajatantra Party received 571,992 votes while Janata Samajbadi Party received 402, 771 votes. Janamat Party (New party) received 367,957 votes followed by the CPN (Unified Socialist) with 286,120 votes.
People’s Freedom Party received 253, 170 votes, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party received 149, 316 votes, Nepal Workers’ and Peasants’ Party received 73,709 votes, Hamro Nepali Party received 54,010 votes, Mangol National Organization received 46, 827 votes, Rashtriya Janamorcha received 45,804 votes, Nepal Federal Socialist Party received 38,938 votes, NCP(Marxist Leninist) received 29,830 votes, Rashtriya Janamukti Party received 23,365 votes, People’s Progressive Party received 17,815 votes, Nepal Ama Party received 17,669 votes, Sanghiya Loktantrik Rashtriya Manch received 17,481 votes, Bahujan Ekta Party Nepal received 16,678 votes, Nepali Congress (BP) received 11,990 votes, Rashtriya Prajatantra Party received 11,794 votes, Nepali Janata Party received 9,615 votes, Nepal’s Party for Nepal received 8,107 votes, Bahujan Shakti Party received 8,063 votes, Nepal Communist Party received 7,627 received, Nepal Communist Party Marxist(Puspa Kamal) received 7,125 votes.
Nepal People’s Party received 7,090 votes followed by Nepal Loktantrik Party which received 7,030 votes, Miteri Party Nepal which received 6,882 votes, Aamul Pariwartan Mashiha Party received 6,322 votes, Janajagaran Party Nepal received 6,223 votes, People’s Socialist Party received 5,705 votes, Background Nisad Dalit Janajati Party received 4,839 votes, Bibeksheel Sajha Party received 3,916 votes, Nepal Communist Party Maoist Socialist received 3,648 votes, Unified Shakti Nepal received 3,490 votes, Rashtriya Mukti Movement, Nepal received 3,235 votes, Federal Democratic National Forum – Tharuhat received 3,203 votes, Maulik Jarokilo Party received 3,112 votes, Terai–Madhesh Loktantrik Party received 3,069 votes, Nepal Federal Socialist Party received 2,668 votes, Nepal Communist Party received 2,110 votes.
National People’s Party received 1,965 votes while Rashtriya Nagarik Party received 1,921 votes.
Parties need to secure at least one seat from first-past-the-post (FPTP) and at least needs to receive three per cent of the total votes cast in the proportional election system to be a national party of Nepal.
