The agitating students of Universal College of Medical Sciences and Teaching Hospital and the college administration have signed a six-point agreement which states that the college will return or adjust the extra fees charged with the students under several headings.
The agreement was signed between representatives from the agitating medical students and college administration in the presence of Puran KC, private secretary of Minister for Education, Giriraj Mani Pokharel.
According to the agreement, the additional fees charged from the students enrolled in the academic year 2018/19 will be adjusted into the TU registration form and counsel registration form fees. This is in the case of students who have paid their first installment of the fees.
The remaining additional fees, if any, will be adjusted in the second and third installments of their fees.
Representatives from the students’ as well as the college’s sides had signed the agreement at midnight yesterday. With this agreement, medical students of Universal College have withdrawn their strike, resuming regular academic as well as administrative activities.
