Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma and Military Advisor in the United Nations’s Department of Peace Operations General Birame Diop held a meeting today.
In the meeting held at the NA Headquarters, the two discussed Nepali Army’s contribution to peace-keeping missions.
According to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information, CoAS Sharma and General Diop exchanged their views on the need and participation of the Nepali peace-keeping force in the coming days.
On the occasion, General Diop highly commended the contributions of the Nepali peace-keepers in various peace-keeping missions and expected continuation of their contributions in the coming days.
CoAS Sharma extended his gratitude for the support received from the United Nations so far and expressed his commitment that the Nepali peace-keepers would engage in the peace-keeping missions more professionally and effectively.
General Diop is currently in Nepal to attend a two-day event organized by the NA on the United Nations establishment day. The NA is confident that the visit of the high-level UN delegate in Nepal and subsequent meetings would contribute to giving a high appreciation of the NA’s role to maintain world peace. (RSS)
