Valley’s Prohibitory Order Likely To Be Extended For One More Week

The meeting of three Chief District Officers of Kathmandu Valley is being held today to hold discussions regarding the modality of the ongoing prohibitory order.

The final decision regarding the extension of the prohibitory order will be taken in the meeting today.

Dhundi Prasad Niraula, Chief District Officer of Lalitpur, said, “The prohibitory order is likely to be extended for one more week while restrictions on a few areas will be relaxed.”

He added, “Even though appeals are being made to resume the public transportation services, we have not reached a conclusion yet. The decision regarding resumption of public transport will also be taken today.”

CDO Niraula said that the schedules of opening shops might be shuffled. The ongoing prohibitory order is ending tomorrow at midnight.

Following a massive surge in COVID-19 cases, the District Administration Offices of the Valley had imposed prohibitory order on April 29.
