With the construction and operation of the first grid substation in the district, problem of frequent power outage has been solved in Sarlahi.

People of Sarlahi, who were irritated by the frequent power cuts in the past, have now felt a sigh of relief after getting uninterrupted electricity supply in their homes.

A grid substation of 132/33 kV capacity constructed at Nawalpur in Lalbandi Municipality-1, has come into operation.

Deepak Shrestha of Nawalpur said that many problems of electricity supply have been solved with the construction of the substation.

He expressed his happiness that they felt a big relief after the problem of frequent power cuts and low voltage has been solved.

Electricity is being supplied to three feeders namely Lalbandi, Haripur and Malangwa from the grid substation.

According to the Nepal Electricity Authority, preparations are being made to connect the electricity to the Bharathawa feeder from the Nawalpur grid substation within the next few months.

After regular supply of electricity, industrialists and businessmen have also become happy.

Industrialists and businessmen were also frustrated by the problem of the power tripping as the electricity city was being supplied to the district from Chandranigahpur in Rautahat, a long distance. Sanjiv Kumar Sah, chief of Lalbandi Distribution Centre of Nepal Electricity Authority, said that after the construction of the grid substation, supply of electricity has become easy.

Previously, when there was a fault in the forest area of Rautahat, it used take hours for the technicians to reach there from Lalbandi or Malangwa to repair it, and until the repair was done, the electricity in the entire district used to be interrupted. Now, after the construction of the grid substation in the district, such problem has been over, said Sah.
