Woman buried in landslide in Nepal

A woman has died after being buried by landslide triggered by heavy rainfall in Nepal.

The incident took place in Lugri rural municipality on Saturday afternoon when Gaumala Majhi, working on a canal in front of her home, was buried.

She died on the spot.

Landslide also buried her home. However, other members of the family escaped unhurt. A dozer had to be used to recover the body of Majhi, according to the municipality staff Dil Bahadur KC.

The local health office building was also damaged while two motorcycles were buried in the landslide.

The ground floor of the municipality office building has also been covered in mud.  (RSS)
