A woman was killed and four others were injured when a dispute among the local people at Bodebarsain in Saptari district over fishing turned into a clash.
The dispute that took place on Sunday noon into night over fishing into a public pond flared up and resulted in a clash when both parties started attacking with home-made weapons, said the police.
The deceased has been identified as local resident Gangiya Devi Mandal. The deceased woman, who sustained weapon wounds, died today morning, said the police. Of the injured, one is said to be in serious condition.
The police have arrested four suspects in connection with the incident and investigations were underway, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhuwaneshwor Sah.
