Youth Murdered Brutally With Sharp Weapon


A young man was found murdered in a cow farm run by Gokul Bahadur Khulal of the land of Kabi Raj Basnet at Sipadol main road at Suryabinayak Municipality Ward-8, Bhaktapur.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Deepak Giri of Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, the deceased has been identified as Ishwor Rai, aged about 20 currently living at the squatter’s settlement of Manohara and having Solukhumbu as the permanent address.

The accused, Ashish Khulal, aged 20, is the son of Gokul Bahadur Khulal, who runs the farm, informed DSP Giri.

The Metro Police Circle Jagati, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Rajesh Thapa’s team cordoned off the area and arrested the accused immediately by circling the murder spot after the information around 4 PM on Thursday that the accused was fleeing from the site.

Tara Devi Thapa, Superintendent of Police (SP), from Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur discovered the body lying on the ground with severe cuts around the head made by a sharp object.

Ishwor Rai called Ashish Khulal and informed him that he was visiting Sipadol around 9 AM on Thursday. After that, two other friends, Younis Yonjan and Sunil Bal, along with the deceased met Ashish Khulal and moved towards the cow farm at Sipadol, with an intention of getting intoxicated with friends.

Yonjan and Bal currently live in the squatter’s settlement of Manohara and are from the Mahottari district.

The preliminary investigation revealed that all the four friends were drinking by locking the door of the trend but after some time they fell into the heated discussion midst the drinking.

After that, Ashish Khulal dozed the knife to Ishwor Rai in a rage. Two other friends flew from the site as Ashish was dozing knife hits to the Rai, killing him at the spot.

The murder weapon (Khukuri) has been recovered from the site.

Further investigation is being carried out on the incident site and the nature of the autopsy as well.
