Youth who died in Butwal tests negative for COVID-19: Ministry of Health


“The 32 year old youth who passed away yesterday’s swab test results have arrived. He tested negative”, spokesperson for Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Devkota said during a press brief on Facebook Live.

He also added that there have been three more deaths- one in Patan Hospital and two in Bir Hospital. “All three patients had reported fever, but also exhibited other health complications”, he said. Swab reports of the three have been sent to National Public Health Laboratory, and results are awaited. Details will be available tomorrow at 04:15 p.m.

Meanwhile, on other daily reports:

  1. Total number of tests: 993.
  2. Number of tests conducted in the past 24 hours: 76
  3. Cases in Isolation: 4 in Teku, 3 in Patan.
  4. PPE: Being delivered, and at least 100 to 300 units available in all provinces.

The spokersperson also added that contact tracing of the diagnosed was being done, and has requested others who knew anyone that flew on the same plane to come forward and speak to health authorities.
