The Embassy of Nepal in Canberra has announced that more than 12,000 passports have been issued and are now ready for distribution.
According to the embassy, a total of 12,057 passports were issued between December 2025 and June 2026. Distribution of these passports has now commenced.
The embassy has urged applicants to check the status of their passport on the embassy's website and verify their details before visiting to collect their passport.
Applicants who have already applied for a passport are advised to visit the official passport collection page and confirm whether their passport has been issued. According to the Embassy, passports are ready for collection only when the application status shows "Passport has been issued." Applicants may also track their application through the Nepal ePassport mobile app.
Those whose passports are ready are requested to arrange collection as soon as possible by following the instructions provided by the Embassy.
