Until yesterday all the internet you were using was coming from India; from today, you can’t be too sure. Nepal Telecom is officially connected to the Chinese internet from today. There should be no disruption while using Google, Facebook, and other services as Nepal is connected to Hong Kong servers. This move has officially ended India’s monopoly over internet supply to Nepal, creating a platform for competition. The competition could enable ISP’s of Nepal to provide effective and efficient internet experiences to its users. Nepal Telecom has not disclosed how much bandwidth it will be receiving from China initially but has said they will gradually increase the limit.
