(AP) — A solid morning session helped India build a eight-run lead over England on day three of the first test on Friday.
India lost just one wicket to move to 191 for five at lunch at Trent Bridge, with KL Rahul reaching the break 77 not out and Ravindra Jadela an unbeaten 27.
Ollie Robinson claimed the only wicket for England, getting Rishabh Pant at short cover for 25.
Play started on time despite a poor weather forecast. However, just 11 deliveries were possible before rain arrived, causing an hour delay.
When it resumed, Pant went when he was caught by Jonny Bairstow at short cover.
Dan Lawrence had a chance to run out Jadela on four soon after and captain Joe Root later wasted his team’s third and final review when Stuart Broad thought he had Rahul caught behind for 70.
