Paragliding athlete dies while performing in 9th National Games


A paragliding athlete participating in the 9th National Games has died while competing in the game.

26-year-old Nisim Thapa, performing under the Tribhuvan Army Club has been identified as the deceased.

According to the Police, he fell from a height of 100 meters while the cross-country paragliding game was going on under the 9th National Games.

After falling his paraglider of Blue Sky Company, from the sky to the ground in Sarangkot, he was taken to Metro City Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Further investigation into the case is underway, the police informed.

Paragliding competition was added to Nepal national game in 2019 and was played at the 8th Nepal National Games for the first time.
