A 23 year old Nepali woman has drowned in Lewisville Lake, Texas. Although media reports vary between she falling off a boat, and/or intentionally jumping into the lake for a swim, a GoFundMe page setup towards covering her funeral and memorial expenses has confirmed she died after ‘accidentally falling off the boat’.
The incident occurred on 26th July, 2020. As per reports, she was reported missing around 3 p.m. after which a search operation was launched. According to Fire Chief Mark McNeal, they were able to locate her body around 7 p.m. with the help of sonar technology.
The 23 year old woman, identified as Ashmita Khanal, is originally from Kathmandu, Nepal.
“Currently, her body is peacefully lying at Tarrant county Medical Examiner Center and the close family members are working on legal procedures to claim for funeral processings”, a GoFundMe page set up towards covering her funeral and memorial costs reads.
