Santosh Shah – the Nepali chef at MasterChef UK: The Professionals

For years we have watched people from multicultural background prepare delicious treats on MasterChef – be it in the US, UK, Australia or the 32 other countries it has reached to. This year, in the MasterChef UK: The Professionals, we get to watch a chef of Nepali origin participating and creating amazing dishes – of which a few are going to be Nepali dishes.

Santosh Shah, a 35 year old chef originally from Siraha, Nepal, currently head chef at Cinnamon Collection will be putting his culinary experience to test as he pursues the coveted title.

Head chef at the age of 35, Santosh’s journey is remarkable – he was born in Siraha and moved to India at a young age of 14 to sustain himself and his family.

In India he began working in several restaurants and hotels, eventually gaining several necessary skills and experience to become a top-chef. He then moved from Gujurat, India to London and pursued his culinary skills at several hotels and restaurants in the United Kingdom before becoming head chef at the Cinnamon Collection.

MasterChef: The Professionals is a television competitive cooking show, and is a spin-off from the main MasterChef series for professional working chefs.
