Two Nepalis have been reported to be killed in road accidents in the United States of America within a week.
In two separate road accidents, two Nepali men were killed on Tuesday and Wednesday in two different states.
According to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, Bishnu Prasad Sapkota originally hailing from Bardibas, Mahottari district was struck by a car off New Circle Road Wednesday morning in Lexiinton, Kentucky.
Sapkota was pronounced dead after he was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. Sapkota was in the US to visit daughter and son-in-law. He was crossing the road while he was hit by the car.
He had gone out to roam around with his wife. His wife is being treated at the same hospital and said to be in critical condition.
In a similar accident in Lancastar, Pennsylvania, USA on Tuesday, Nepali-born Bhutanese Karna Bahadur Subedi was also hit by a car while crossing the road, reports local Lancastar media.
Subedi had immigrated to the USA in 2012 and had been living with his family since then.
