UK coronavirus death toll exceeds Italy’s

Coronavirus infection has killed more people in the UK than in Italy.

According to Johns Hopkins University, 29,427 people have died due to Covid-19 in the UK while the death toll in Italy stands at 29,315.

The United Kingdom now has second highest death toll after US – whose death toll is 72,275.

After the UK government revised the way it collects data – including deaths in care homes and the wider community in its daily updates for the first time, the numbers have gradually risen up.

Meanwhile, active coronavirus cases are higher in Italy than that of the UK. The UK has 194,990 coronavirus patients whereas Italy has 213,013.

There are 3,728,254 coronavirus cases across the world with 258,360 deaths. A total of 1,242,575 people have recovered from the deadly infection.
