World’s biggest election in India today

India’s election has kicked off where in the first phase representatives will be voted in 91 constituencies along 20 states.

Almost 900 million people from India are eligible for voting. Prime minister Modi is battling for the second term from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against Rahul Gandhi from Congress for prime ministership.

In order to facilitate the 900million voters, more than 1,000,000 voting centre has been set up. There are total 8,251 candidates fighting for vote.

In 2014, BJP was successful in getting the maximum vote after winning 282 seats in parliament.
