A Nepalese student seriously injured in road accident in Melbourne


Nishma Shrestha, a Nepalese student living in Glenroy, Melbourne is seriously injured after being hit by a car in Pascoe Vale.

According to the police, the accident occurred when Shrestha was crossing road at 1 am on Thursday. Police and ambulance were called by the driver and Shrestha has been hospitalised in Royal Melbourne Hospital. She has suffered a life threatening injury on her head.

After the incident was reported by Victoria police, authorities from Consulate office, NRNA Victoria and NAV have reached out to her in the hospital. Keshav Kandel, NRNA Vice President, informed that Shrestha’s family in Nepal has been made aware of the incident.

Shrestha is an international student from La Trobe University. The full report about the accident is yet to be revealed by the police.
