April 12, 2019

For the first time in the history of Australian Federal Election, a youth from Nepali origin has been recommended by the ruling Liberal party of Australia to be a candidate in Federal election. Sydney based Pramej Shrestha, 26, will be running from Division of Barton in NSW for the election which will be taking place in May 18.

A meeting held by the NSW working committee of Liberal party on Thursday recommended his candidacy.

Pramej who is known as Pjay represents the second-generation Nepali community in Australia.  He came to Australia 20 years ago at the age of 6 with his parents. Pramej, who is also Mr Nepal Ocenia, is involved in Australian education and business. He is regarded as one of the inspirational second-generation Nepali in Australia.
