Australian tax payers were left scratching their heads after more than $100,000 was spent by ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission) in an apparent redesigning of logo. However, the change is barely noticeable.
The country’s corporate industry watchdog started to work on a new look, within weeks after the banking royal commission was announced in 2017.
As published on abc.net.au, more than $43000 excluding GST was spent for “Creative development while nearly $60,000 was spent on “design and asset development” which included expenses for new stationary templates, banners and online homepage.
Labor MP Matt Keogh said, “Instead of working to throw the book at the banks, they were concerned about the font that the book was written in”.
Australians have come to social media to express themselves for the spending of tax payers’ money by ASIC.
