Newly appointed Australian Ambassador to Nepal, Her Excellency Felicity Jane Volk, presented her credentials to the Right Honourable President of Nepal, Bidya Devi Bhandari, at an event organised at the Shital Niwas on 15th February, 2021. The day also marked 61 years of diplomatic relationship between Nepal and Australia.
Ms. Volk tweeted:
Ambassador Volk is a career diplomat of over thirty years experience, including roles as Director of Australia’s Office of the Ambassador for Women and Girls and postings in Laos as Deputy Head of Mission and Bangladesh.
Ambassador Volk is the eleventh resident Ambassador to Nepal and fourth female Australian Ambassador to Nepal.
Her predecessaor Ambassador Peter Budd, had spent three and a half years as Australian Ambassador to Nepal, and had departed for Australia on 28th October, 2020.
