Child critical after crash – Concord West in NSW

A child is in a critical condition after a crash in Sydney’s inner-west this afternoon.

About 3.15pm (Friday 17 May 2019), emergency services were called to the intersection of Concord Road and Yaralla Street at Concord West, following reports of a crash.

A truck and a Hyundai Elantra collided, before hitting a power pole and trapping the occupants of the Hyundai.

Officers from Burwood Police Area Command attended the scene.

The female driver and a nine-year-old boy were freed from the vehicle. Her age is not yet known.

The child was treated at the scene before being transported to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition.

The woman is being treated by paramedics at the scene and will be taken to Westmead Hospital. She is currently in a stable condition.

The truck driver was treated for minor injuries and has been taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
