First Session of Student Assist Programs conducted successfully

The first day of Student Assist Program Victoria was conducted successfully on Sunday, February 17 in the office of Consulate General of Nepal to Victoria. The session saw an active participation from new arriving students in Victoria. It is the first information session among other scheduled sessions.

There were more than 50 international students attending the student induction which was organized jointly by NRNA (Non-Resident Nepali Association), NAV (Nepalese Association of Victoria) and Consulate General of Nepal to Victoria.

In the session, the participating students were welcomed by NAV president, Tara Gaire and NRNA Australia Vice President, Keshav Kandel. Likewise, Pramod Giri, a representative of LaTrobe University Nepalese Student Association and Jasmine Karanjit from Melbourne University Nepali Student Association, spoke to the students.

Students were provided with information regarding road and water safety, accommodation, job hunting, laws, insurance policies by the presenters. Sudhir Shakya, Raj Sharma and Nirajan Gauli were the presenters for the session. The students were equally enthusiastic while hearing the experiences of the presenters and speakers.

The induction team was managed by Youth coordinator Suman Adhikari, Ganesh Kandel and Niru Tripati from Consulate General’s office.
