In Victoria? Here’s a list of the do’s and the dont’s.

Melbourne, Victoria

Victoria has entered into a five day snap lockdown from 11:59 pm Friday, 12th February. The five day snap lockdown is supposed to serve as a circuit breaker as Victorian health authorities fear there could already be widespread transmission of the UK variant of the coronavirus within the community.

Here are a list of changes:

One can only leave home for four reasons – shopping for medicines and essential supples, exercise, care-giving, and essential work and education.

Victorian must shop within the five kilometre radius of their homes. Retail outlets and beauty salons will be closed – grocery stores, pharmacies, and other urgent nature businesses will be open.

Exercise is limited to two hours a day with one other person not from your household.

Restaurants/cafes will be closed and will be offering takeaway services only.

Mass-gatherings of all sorts are prevented, and no visitors are allowed.

Masks have been made mandatory, and must be worn at all times – except when inside the house, or if exempted.

Restrictions on weddings and religious gatherings are applicable.
