Man stabbed near Star Casino passes away, perpetrator to be charged with murder

A man fighting for his life after being stabbed on the neck near Star Casino in Sydney has passed away. The incident occurred on Sunday (22nd September, 2019) around 2:30 a.m. Emergency services were called to Pirrama Road, Pyrmont, following reports a man had been stabbed.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command attended and rendered assistance to the 40-year-old man before he was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.

Just after 9am today (Wednesday 25 September 2019), the man passed away.

A 50-year-old man was arrested and charged over his alleged role in the incident.

He is due to face Central Local Court today, where his charge will be upgraded to murder.
