The Nepali community of Australia has been saddened by the news of the death of Dipendra Khanal – a young soul, originally hailing from Tanahun. According to reports, he committed suicide by hanging.

The incident, which occurred a week ago in a Melbourne home, has community members re-discussing the issue of better mental health – it is believed Mr. Khanal had shown some visible change in behaviour since the past few months. According to sources close to him, he would prefer to be alone and not mingle much with his friends.

Khanal had arrived in Australia in 2008, and had recently applied for a protection visa. He would not share much of his personal affairs with his house mates.

As per reports, Khanal was found dead last week, his housemates were the first ones to see him in the position. The housemates duly informed the police, and his body has been taken for postmortem.

Family members of Khanal have been informed and have requested his body be sent home for his final rites. A few community members have come together to arrange the financial resources required to send his body back home.
