Melbourne Australia – Nepali youth studying in Australia have fallen victim to blood cancer. Prasanna Shrestha, who is studying IT at a college in Sydney, is battling a disease called acute myeloid leukemia.
Prasanna was diagnosed with the disease on March 2. After being diagnosed with the disease, he continued to undergo chemotherapy and was unable to work. He is seeking financial assistance for the treatment as the insurance will not cover all the medical expenses.
Prasanna’s bone marrow transplant has been underway at the Oasley Mission Hospital in Brisbane since the first week of July. Her mother has already arrived in Australia for this. The bone marrow transplant will cost 1.5 million dollars. After spending only 20 percent of it, he is in the process of raising the remaining money.
Prashant will have to spend more than 100,000 dollars for the treatment. For this, treatment expenses have been collected through Gofundame. So far, 42,509 dollars have been collected for his treatment.
