The initiative to build a Nepali Community Centre in Victora is inching closer to become a reality. For the same purpose, a new phase of the campaign has been initiated.
Earlier, the location for the Community Centre was decided – to acquire the property AUD 300,000 needs to be deposited by 20th November,2019. Speaking to MNTV, Dr. Chandra Deepak Pokhrel, President of Australian Nepalese Community Centre has said ‘a campaign to procure the required funds has been initiated’.
According to Dr. Pokhrel, the property valued at AUD 1,600,000 is perfect for the community centre. The property, a sprawling 15 acres of land also comes with a building which is fit to serve as the organisation’s office.
Beginning the new phase, an interaction program to encourage new members and for general awareness regarding the property is being held at Mata Chintpurni Temple in St. Albans, VIC. Today’s program is being coordinated by Vice President of Australian Nepalese Community Centre Mahendra Karki along with Sunil Bhandari and Gandhi Prasad Bhattarai. Similarly another interaction program will be held on 22nd September at Craigieburn, the program will be coordinated by Prem Kandel and Binit Raj Sharma. On 13th October, Raj Sharma, Raju Shakya and Tara Gaire will be organising similar programs at Coburg, Glenroy and Brunswick.
According to a press release, on 19th October, Manoj Ghimire and Rajesh Acharya will organise a similar program in the east. Similarly, on 20th October, Gopal Pokhrel and Yugendra Regmi will host similar programs in the west and south-west. The last episode of the campaign will be held on 3rd November by Lal Prasad Kandel, Tanka Kandel and Hume Kunwar.
