Melbourne, Australia:
Interstate borders in Australia have fully open for the first time since the the first restrictions owing to Covid-19 pandemic was imposed – implying anyone inside Australia can travel freely to any state without restrictions for the first time in almost 12 months.
Western Australia, the last state to impose border restrictions on Victoria lifted its border restrictions with Victoria last night – allowing the entire country to travel freely without undergoing quarantine in any state.
However, as interstate restrictions across Australia have eased, the states are also monitoring an ongoing situation in Queensland and NSW. State governments have said they will not hesitate to reimpose travel restrictions if the situation in any of the states worsens.
