NRNA Australia Victoria Youth Forum’s second statewide edition of Table Tennis has concluded successfully. Held in Melbourne on Sunday, January 10, 2021, the tournament witnessed an overwhelming participation of 85 players.
In the age group of 12 years and under (male), Som Dhital bagged the first title, Savana Khanjya runners-up, and Adish Pande, second runners-up.
Similarly, in the female category of age 12 and under, Smriti Adhikari came first and Mina Lamichhane runners-up.
In the 12 to 18 age-group category, Prabhat Bhatta came first and Bibek Kafle came second.
In male-open category, Bikram Tiwari bagged the first title and Shatranj Suwal came a close second.
In male veteran’s category, Hari Kandel came first, with ex-NAV Preseident Tara Gaire runners-up.
Following the prize distribution, Keshav Kandel, President of NRNA Australia thanked the Victorian youth team for organising a successful tournament, congratulated all participants for their spirit, and commended the efforts of all towards making the tournament a success.
The referees for the tournament were Som Prasad Gurung, Bipul Gyawali, Sunil Mainali, Aakash Chettri respectively.
The tournament was also in attendance of NRNA Victoria coordinator Prem Kandel, NRNA ICC Members Durga Acharya, Narayan Kafle, President of Australian Nepalese Community Centre Rajesh Acharya, and President of FeNCAA Dr. Raju Adhikari, and senior community member Jog Limbu.
The tournament was organised under the efforts of NRNA Victoria Youth Forum’s Coordinator Babin Mishra and Ashim Subedi with the supervision of NRNA Victoria’s Secretary Narayan Katuwal.
